Description
In a village-in-the-city in Shenzhen, there is a payphone kiosk. Like duckweeds, passers hurry floating together and disperse, leaving a mark on each other 's life.
It is a time when smart phone is not common and communication is not easy. Villagers often make domestic long-distance calls, reload calling cards, and even download music at the payphone kiosk. People come and go, strangers occasionally meet, leave some traces in each other's life, and then depart. Xiong, the mobile phone repairman and Ping, the massage girl meet, know each other well and think they could have stayed together and ended their loneliness in this distant land; Didi, son of the owner of the payphone kiosk, never gets in touch with his good friend Shanshan because of an accident; everyday ranger Daxing calls a different random number just to seek an exit for the load in his heart...
He Rui, the director cum playwright, recounts a story of a group of wandering people based on his own experience.
